GILMAN, John Taylor (1753 - 1828). Governor of New Hampshire for 14 years, from (1794-1805) and (1813-1816), Continental Congress representative of New Hampshire (1782-1783), Farmer, Shipbuilder, and Statesman. Partially-Printed Document Signed, “J(ohn) T. Gilman,” as Governor of the State, June 13, 1801, VG. Governor Gilman has made an Appointment to Joseph Loomis as Justice of the Peace. This Document measures 9” x 14” with expected folds, minor fold margin edge splits at top, boldly printed in deep black upon period laid paper with vivid deep brown manuscript portions and a very large bold signature measuring fully 2.5” long. Overall very nice condition for display.
