1864, $50 Partially Printed Bounty Payment Receipt, Fine. 5.5" x 8.25," marginal toning, splits and tears (none too distracting). This official, preprinted document was printed on blue paper and completed by hand to record the obligation to pay $50 to Ephraim Farmer of Fowler, NY for volunteering in the Union Army. However, the back of the document contains a lengthy handwritten note disputing Farmer's claim for payment, indicating that the proof of his service was suspect!
