A skillfully executed early 20th Century figural whirley wig carving of Abraham Lincoln holding a paddle in each hand that are painted in the style of the American flag and reminiscent of a patriotic shield. The figure stands 11" high and has been mounted to a later 4" square wooden base. The president's body was carved from one solid piece of wood while the arms where carved separately and attached with screws. The figure is fully painted with a black suit, tan vest, and white shirt. Found in central Pennsylvania, this piece is is still covered with years of grime which we would not even think of cleaning. Also the base is slightly water stained. Overall a very good piece of American Folk with good honest wear and loving appeal.
