A complete and authentic issue of the Scientific American, New York, August 3, 1901, 16pp., never bound, VG. The front cover shows two important engraved illustrations. The top, “The Brooklyn Bridge and Suspension Bridge No. 3 on Which Work Has Just Commenced,” with interior story. Suspension Bridge No. 3 later became known as the Manhattan Bridge. The lower engraving, “Bird’s Eye View of New York, Showing the Bridges Built and Building Across the East River,” with related story on an interior page. Shows four bridges and lower Manhattan Rapid Transit Tunnel.
