A complete and authentic issue of the San Francisco Chronicle, August 4, 1927, 26pp., weak at spine else VG. Front page banner headline “SACCO, VANZETTI MUST DIE,” with a full column report jumping to page two with photos of the convicted. This is the report of the final appeal to the Governor of these two defendants. Sacco and Vanzetti were anarchists who were convicted of murdering two men during a 1920 armed robbery in South Braintree, Massachusetts. After a controversial trial and a series of appeals, the two Italian immigrants were executed on August 23, 1927.
