Pair of Lexington Gazette’s from the summer of 1865, includes: June 5, 1865, 1p. large folio, printed on blue stock, being the Extra from that date, with lenghty printing of “The Amnesty Proclamation by the President” as well as an article on the “Reconstruction of State Governments”. Some loss at far right, with some text affected...plus; August 9, 1865, 2p. double folio, with front page news on the repeal of Confederate taxes and articles headlined “GENERAL LEE ELECTED PRESIDENT” of Washington College, as well as “PETITIONS FOR PARDON”. Both About VG or better.
