Autograph Letter Signed from a Naomi M. P. Pike, a Massachusetts civilian, to her sister. Four-pages on ruled lettersheet, Weymouth [MA], January 22, 1865: "...William was killed in the war and then i had one son left in home. i thought i should live with and take comfort but he returned last fall with a southern girl. We may call her eighteen years of age. a Rebel but i think that i could get along with her very well if it had not been for a sister of hers come on soon after her and came to board with her. This sister of hers married a Yankey and he is in the war but this sister is a Rebel to the back bone..." Nominal folds and light age-toning, sad content.
