Manuscript Last Will of Jonathan Oustley, 4pp., october 2, 1832, VG. Oustly names on slave, “Bequest to my niece Cathherine Tompson one negro girl named Harriet ...” Certianly there were many more slaves as later in the will Oustley states, “... it is my will and desire that my negroes should not be sold out of the family unless some of them should wish it and that they should be treated in a humane manner.”
