Group of four letters and two covers pertaining to Civil War soldiers in the early 1900’s who are trying to be cleared of charges of desertion. Three letters pertain to George Kile, 36th Pennsylvania, and one to Thomas Davenport, 120th New York Infantry. In Kile’s case his application was submitted to Congress, Davenport however was denied by the War Department. All VG.
