A good postwar American Missionary Association letter, 4pp. 8vo., on their stationery, written by Samuel S. Jocelyn, New York, July 9, 1868, in part: "…you are right about the use and destructiveness of intoxicating liquors and the fearful consequences to the souls of men…we see more and more the need of labor to this great end at the South as well as the north may the colored people and the whites also be lifted abbey its powers…S. S. Jocelyn". Near fine.
