Confederate imprint, “Rifle and Light Infantry Tactics; for The Exercise and Maneuvers of Troops ....” Volume II, by Brevet Lieut. Col. W.J. Hardee, U.S. Army, Nashville, Tenn, 1861, 232pp.. Replete with illustrated plates, ex-library, VG. Unusual in that Hardee is defined as “U.S. Army.” Hardee resigned his West Point commission on January 31, 1861 joining the Confederate States Army as a colonel on March 7, 1861. There is an owners identification, “M.F. Moore, Nashville, Tenn.”
