On the inside cover is an presentation label “Commandery of Ohio, Military Order of the Loyal Legion ... presented by Companion Clowe C. Cradle, Cincinnati Ohio.” A second label is on the fly, and a pencil ID, very difficult to decipher, “I.J. Cawplee (???), Camp Gillepsie Sept. 23, 1861.”
