WRIGHT, Marcus J (1831-922) was promoted to brigadier general on December 13, 1862, and fought in the Tullahoma campaign at Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. In 1863-64 he was in charge of the district of Atlanta. After the evacuation of the city he commanded at Macon. At the end of the war, he commanded the District of North Mississippi and West Tennessee. He was paroled May 19, 1865 at Grenada, Mississippi.Confederate manuscript document on lined blue paper titles “List of Articles lost or destroyed in the public service at Atlanta ...” The document shows three line items including Flys, Wall Tents and Neck Collars. The information is certified and the document signed by Major QM Massengale. It is then approved by “Marcus J. Wright.”
