Cased 1/6th plate tintype, ca. 1861-1865. The photographer carefully crafted this image so as the likeness would appear natural. The subject, casually seated on a chair, is wearing a Federal sack coat and kepi with obscured insignia which are likely crossed cavalry sabers. The trousers are tinted light blue and the buttons are gilt. Some chipping to case, else Fine condition.
