SEYMOUR, Truman (1824-1891) Union general who served from Sumter to Sayler’s Creek. Autograph Letter Signed, “T. Seymour” 3p. octavo, addressed to Colonel H. L. Abbott, May 21, 1865, 4pp., VG. In part: “...At the Naval Laboratory...I saw yesterday, several very interesting projectiles that should be sent to the collection at West Point...Six in all , others not remembered. At the Tredgar Works are hammered shot; I would suggest sending one in the rough, and one finished...” Seymour illustrates three of these projectiles. VG.
