A good group of four (4) war-date Union soldier letters, totaling 13pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. William Hazen Noyes, Co. E, 12th Mass. Vols., all on embossed patriotic stationery, from Camp Hicks, Frederick, Maryland, dated between December 1861 and January 1862. Content includes usual camp news with much discussion on building winter quarters, troops movements, being reviewed by Gen. Abercrombie, being over charged by the Sutler, a commanders wife in camp and more. One original stamped transmittal cover is included. Overall VG
