The February 25th issue notes several times that a Halleck general order “slaves not allowed to enter army lines.” ... From the March 1st issue, 1 full column report, “The Execution of Gordon.” Gordon was the only American slaver executed for Slave Trading. ... From the March 4th issue, running 1-3/4 columns, “Jeff. Davis Inaugural Address.”
