Manuscript, 2pp., with introduction, "Battle Song of the 57th Reg. NY Vols as sung by them when approaching the enemy on the Shores of North Carolina Feby 5th, 1863 Dedicated to Col. Ed Ferraro, by O.N. Benton Chaplain." Benton continues with 24 line battle song. Chaplain Benton himself was wounded March 14, 1862 at New Berne NC and died the following day.
