Andrews" 1st Rhode Island Cavalry, 4pp. octavo, August 9, 1863, Thoroughfare Gap, with cover, and reads in part: "...we have marched from Warrington 9 miles arrived here about 10 am, and pitched our tents...we are on the west side of the gap. The 2 service of cavalry are here 1st P.I. 2 N.Y., 4 N.Y., and 6 Ohio, 2 P.I. Battery 6 NY Battery...we have not had quite as hard days work as we had one year ago today at the Cedar Mountain fight" More. VG
