Frost [POW Winchester, Va., 6/13/63; WIA Piedmont, Va., 6/05/64; POW 6/11/64 while wounded-confinded at Florence, SC & DOD upon parole 1/15/65], Co. I, 116th Ohio Vols., "Camp at Sleepy Creek, Morgan Co., West Va., Feb. 26, 1864," in part: "…Old [CSA Guerrillas Fighter Harry] Gilmore is not very far off…we will be prepared for him…we have a chaplain in our Regt but I have not seen him in the last two months…he comes along the lines once in a while and brings tracts and papers for us to read…E. W. frost…". Frost's phonetic spelling has been corrected. VG
