Frost [POW Winchester, Va., 6/13/63; WIA Piedmont, Va., 6/05/64; POW 6/11/64 while wounded-confinded at Florence, SC & DOD upon parole 1/15/65], Co. I, 116th Ohio Vols., "Camp at Woodstock, Va., May 13, 1864", in part: "…we left Winchester last Monday and have been on the move nearly ever since…we have not met any Jonies yet…I am out on picket in my dog tent…it has rained nearly every day since we left Winchester but the first day …was so hot...some of the men was sun struck. There was one that died…they were not expected to live when I heard of them…direct to Co. I 116 Regt O. V. I. via Martinsburg, VA…your affectionate son, E. W. Frost". VG
