Civil War tintype photo. 3¼ x 4¼ studio view standing soldier in open frock coat and wide brimmed black hat. Full leather gear (waist belt and plate) with cross shoulder belt and round eagle plate holding Model 1861 musket with bayonet attached. Especially nice, painted studio background of tent camp with large American flag flying from pole and field cannon in view. Some light color tinting. Very sharp and clear. Just one light, partially flaked area near his foot, but not obscuring any detail. Fancy gilt frame.
