A great multicolored ca. 1862 Civil War map being, "The Historical War Map" published by Asher & Co., Indiana, 1862, measuring 25 3/4" square, showing the Southern states and effected border states of the U. S. during the war. Inset at the lower left are four smaller maps engraved by E. R. Jewett, Buffalo of Charleston and vicinity; Vicksburg and vicinity; Southeast Virginia and Northeast Virginia. The state's borders are highlighted in green with major battlefields and target Southern cities highlighted in red, including those of Fort Sumter, Lexington, MO., Port Royal, Va., Gettysburg and Helena, Miss. Many more sites noted. Ready for framing with some irregular margins and several archive tape repairs on the verso, else VG.
