A 14" x 9" hand tinted Currier and Ives print, "The Battle of Baton Rouge, La., Aug. 4, 1862." The battle, forced by the rebels, saw them defeated and the ram gunboat "Arkansas" destroyed by the Union's "Essex" under Com. Porter. Upper left and lower center and right of print does have some waterstaining, but still an interesting interpretation by famous engravers.
