Beautiful burgandy fabric, 10-1/2’ x 2-3/4,” printed on the reverse "Compliments Of, The Brainerd & Armstrong Spool Silk Company, to George G. Meade Post No. 1, Philadelphia." From the front, the folded ribbon lays back to the left and right to reveal a 5-1/8" long ,extremely early sheet of celluloid that includes Grant's portrait, a list of major events in his life between 1822 and 1885. It carries the copyright and name of the maker "Geo. A. Snow Park Place, N.Y." Item was a souvenir from the ceremony at his entombment at Riverside Park, NYC Aug. 8, 1885. Scarce and mint.
