HOOVER, Herbert Clark. (1874-1964) Thirty-first President, 1929-33, leader of international relief efforts, engineer, humanitarian. Typed Letter Signed “Herbert Hoover” on his personal stationary, April 14, 1944, from the Waldorf Astoria, New York, 1p., VG. Hoover thanks the Borchahardts for “extending to me such understanding sympathy upon the passing of Mrs. Hoover. ...” Interestingly, this is written three weeks after Hoover left office.
