Important photograph published by United Press International (Stamp on verso) of a young man painting "Jobs For Negros" on a store front window in St. Louus, Mo. At the right edge of the image it reads: 6/16/65 St. Louis: Hamid Khalil, civil rights demonstrator, painting sign say "Jobs for Negro men" on the window at Union Electric, Co. in downtown St. Louis….Some seven demonstrators then pickted on the sidewalk in front of the building for an hour". An image taken at the height of the Civil Rights movement. Measures 8" x 10", fine save for two punch holes at bottom edge.
