A Pair of Bibles identified to B.F. Asby to include; “New Testament,” 1865, with his identification on the inside front cover, “B.F. Ashby Co. F 10th Division, Prisoner of War, Point Lookout Md.” On the opposing fly sheet, a second identification, “B.F. Ashby Co. G, 1st Va. regt. Prisoner of War, Point Lookout Md., Captured on the 2nd of April 1865. This book is a present to me on this 20th of May 1865.” The inside back cover has the names of several women. ... plus, “The Holy Bible”, 1854, with identification on the inside front cover, “Presented to B.F. Ashby By His Friend Mrs. fannie W. Jones, Dec. 19th, 1858.”
