War-date ca. 1863 anti-draft related, 4pp. large folio, entitled: "Come In Out of The Draft", written by Ednor Rossiter and published by Lee & Walker, Philadelphia. The lyrics, read, in small part: "…it was rather warm…the other day…when a paper to me came and in a list of conscripts I chanced to see my name. I show'd it to my friends…they all laugh's. They said, "How are you, conscript? come in out of the draft." Oh…I hurried home, for I felt rather blue…I'd ask my dad what I had better do. Says he, "you are not young…go and take a bride." My mother on me smiled…and said, "How are you, conscript? come in out of the draft."…I call'd upon a friend. I offer'd her my hand but she said, "she couldn't see it"…and said, "How are you, conscript? come in out of the draft."…next I advertised and soon a chap I found…he would go for just two hundred…when I woke, I found he'd robb'd me in the night. I went and told the mayor…and said, "How are you, conscript? come in out of the draft."…what I next do now really is the "rub." My money almost gone, and I am nearly daft…I've asked my friends all round, but at me they all laugh's. And said, "How are you, conscript? come in out of the draft." Bound binding, minor toning, else VG
