Wooden canteen, 7 1/2" diameter x 3" deep, ca. 1861-1865. One face of this Confederate Gardner canteen has "W.G. Davis" carved above a large "C". The verso has a crude penknife rendering of crossed sabers, which would signify that Davis belonged to a cavalry unit. Missing stopper and sling, else Fine condition.
