Lot of 8 medals issued by the female auxiliaries of the G.A.R. and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Included are 4 Woman's Relief Corps medals in brass complete with hangers and ribbons, 1 1/2" x 3", ca. late 1880's - early 1900's. One of these has a solid red ribbon as opposed to the national colors normally seen. Its hanger is labeled PRESIDENT...Plus; Delegate's medal to the 14th Annual Convention of the Woman's Relief Corp, 1 1/2" x 3 1/2", ca. 1896. The obverse carries a portrait of the organization's President for 1895-96. With yellow ribbon, but missing hanger...Plus; Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War medal with ribbon and hanger, 1 1/8" x 2 5/8", ca. late 1880's - early 1900's. VF...Plus; Ribbon and medal, 2" x 4", 1931, Des Moines, Iowa. From the 49th National Encampment of the Woman's Relief Corps.
