Mounted Albumen photograph 6"x8", of W.H.F. (Rooney) Lee's personal copy of his father's famous General Order No. 9, issued to him on that fateful day in April, 1865. At this time Rooney Lee was second in command under his father. the lower right corner of the image identifies the receipient as “Maj. Gen’l W.H.F. Lee, Commd’g 4c.”Revenue stamps on verso dated this to July 1865. Mounted to thick stock as issued. A fine and very early image of this important document in American history. Small chip to bottom left corner, else Fine. Possibly unique.
