Period stereoview on yellow mount showing General Ferrero and eight officers on the steps of a large building. The identification is on the reverse, “Gen. Ferrero and Staff, Petersburgh, Va., No. 333, Published by Anthony & Co.” c1865. In Grant's final campaign Gen. Ferrero commanded a colored division at Petersburg. He was brevetted major-general of volunteers, Dec. 2, 1864, and was mustered out of the service, Aug. 24, 1865.
