Including: 1) Brady CDV of Bates posed seated, fine. 2) ALS, one page, 5" x 6", on Attorney General's Office letterhead, inlaid to a larger sheet, to an overall size of 6-1/2" x 10", February 24, 1862, Washington, to Daniel Gardner, New York. He is thanking Gardner for a pamphlet regarding The "Ship Harvey Birch".
