Autograph Letter Signed, “George Fitch” 4p. octavo, Camp near Falmouth, Virginia, April 11, 1863, and reads in part: “...Friday April 3d we were reviewed by General fighting Joe Hooker & General John Sedgewick...April 8th we were reviewed by General Hooker and President Lincoln. The President looks a great deal better than he did last summer. He is fleshier than he was when he reviewed us at Harrison’s Landing and looks younger. I believe his health is better than it was in the summer. He is very tall and rather plain looking but never mind the looks, for they say beauty is only skin deep...” Fine.
