In part, “I think at the expiration of the present administration they will sue for peace they think to hold out until the next president which if should be a copperhead would be to their benefit no doubt. they will get disappointed there for I think the army will go for Abram tooth and toe nail if they are allowed to vote. ... I think Brewster was wise in paying his $300 for it not only helps the governemnt but exempts him for 3 years
