War Date document, partially printed, 15” x 13”, “United States Volunteer Service”, issued to John Rogers, 161st Ohio National Guard, December 15, 1864. The document bears the printed signature of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States and Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War. Boldly printed below the attractive heraldic eagle are the words, “The President’s Thanks and Certificate of Honorable Service”. Presented in a modern frame.
