Extremely scarce view of Robert Todd Lincoln, taken by Mathew Brady. The chest up pose, c. mid 1860's, is in excellent condition. This image was thought to have been signed by Lincoln, but it is not. On the verso, in the same hand as the recto, it reads "Robt Lincoln Esq Illinois Bar Eldest Son of the late President". While all RTL CDV's are scarce, this particular view is prohibitively rare. Fine.
