“Remember me ? I was at Bataan, Buy War Bonds,” 28” x 40” signed in the plate “A(lexander). Brook”, USGPO 1943, small piece missing lower right, minor cracks at margins, else VG. A dark and depressing image of an American prisoner of war. The original oil painting is held at the Brooklyn Museum: American Art. The Americans surrendered here April 1942.
