The E.C. Middleton Pair are each 19” x 22,”, copyrighted 1861 and presented in period wood frames which are plaster decorated and painted gold. The Washington frame shows very minor chip, else both images are very good. Middleton accomplished these printed portraits made with, as he advertised, "warranted oil-colors." The portraits are after paintings by Gilbert Stuart.
