MADE FROM COPPER TAKEN FROM THE RUINS OF THE TURPENTINE WORKS…NEWBERN, N.C. DESTROYED BY THE REBELS MARCH 14, 1862 in high relief wording filling the reverse of this 27MM copper token (slightly larger then one inch). Obverse with relief wording "ABRAHAM LINCOLN…BORN FEB. 12. 1809" with relief profile beardless bust of him. Nice deep patina. Slightest wear, but exc. Unusual relic.
