A small booklet, stitch bound, very light toning and dampstaining. Full title reads: "Discourse Preached in the South Congregational Church, Middletown, CT., on the Sabbath Morning After the Assassination of President Lincoln." Pastor Dudley and thousands of other clergymen took to the pulpits in the wake of Lincoln's assassination to eulogize the man and to stir the emotions of a grieving nation.
