First report of Lincoln's death and detailed coverage of the Assassination. Secretary Stanton's bulletin from the War Department to Major General Dix, issued April 15th at 8 A.M. announces: "ABRAHAM LINCOLN DIED THIS MORNING AT TWENTY-TWO MINUTES AFTER SEVEN O'CLOCK.." Other stories include: "Heartrending Particulars of the Assassination," "The Last Official Acts of the President," and "Particulars of the Death of Pres. Lincoln. All pages have black mourning borders. Scattered foxing throughout; otherwise, Fine.
