REQUESENS, Luis de Zunigay, died 1576. Requesens, a soldier and statesman, served as Governor of the Low Countries when Holland revolted against Spanish rule in a bid for religious freedom. Document Signed "S. Luis de Requesas", one page, quarto, October 16, 1570, Bejar, Spain to Captain Lagaro Lorenzo de Leon, Calabrousa, Spain. Written here are military orders from Requesar as "Major General of Castile and of His Majesty's Council of States". He directs the captain to "...despatch himself to Guadix...and bring a company of horsemen and those of Captain Godoy...". Some stains, else Fine condition.
