Autograph Letter Signed, “Charles Crecraft”, 1p. folio, April 13, 1794, Morris Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and reads in part: “...I am commanding a paryt of men on the fruntteers [sic] of Washington County at present and expect to march to Presquisle [Erie, Pa.]...We are informed that a hundred cannoes have been discovered on Eastern side of the Ohio of Indian construction and thought to be intended against the people of Greenbrier. We here also that they have been more troublesome in Kentucky this spring than they have been this five years. We hear but little news from General Wayne’s army or what they are about . He is still in head quarters and we know not wheather he will go from there this Summer. We expect by building a town and garrison at Presquisle to cut off the communication betwixt the British and the Indians and for other purposes best known to our officers...” VG.
