A list on the verso inventory his personal effects as totaling 14.30 and include two shirts at one dollar each, an overcoat at 5.00 and one rubber cloth valued at 2.00. Signed and made official by Surgeon Thomas H. Fisher. In September 1861, Fouche enlisted in the 9th Georgia Infantry. He was transferred into the 11th Battalion, Georgia Artillery (aka Cutt's Battalion & Sumter Light Artillery) in December 1861. He served with the regiment during its time with the Army of Northern Virginia from the Seven Days Campaign until the time of Gettysburg.
