The founder, T(heophilus) A(lexander) Blakely writes a letter on imprinted letter sheet “Blakely Ordnance Company, Southwick, S.E.” 30th Dec, 1863, Blakeley advises one capt Mackenzie that “acknowledgement of the amount paid on each .... I should be much obliged for L5000 on L10,000 on account of the 6 inch guns & shells I am now making ....”
