Autograph Letter Signed, “Henry S. Leverich” 2p. quarto, April 4, 1836, Buck Hall, Fosters Island, Florida, with integral leaf addressed to Charles Leverich in New York, it reads in part: “...we arrived at Mobile...the boat having been engaged by Commodore Dallas to take himself..to Pensacola (they having been to N.O. on pleasure, where they rec’d much attention, they was much disappointed in not being able to get the St. Louis over the bar & take her up to the City...the Commd. is a lively intelligent little tram & very popular...the first night we visited old Spanish Fort (the Barancas) taken by Genl. Jackson in 1818. It had a most imposing appearance by moonlight - there were several pieces of cannon remaining in it & Government intends repairing it.....” VG.
