War-date Union soldier's letter, 1 1/2pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. George S. Youngs, [POW Harper's Ferry, Va., 9/15/62], Co. G, 126th New York Vols., "Barracks, No. 1, Elmira, N. Y., June 3, 1865", in part: "…I full expected to be home on Saturday night, but…there is no prospect now of our arriving there before Thursday…the Regt will come to Geneva in a body. The officers will probably desire them to do so…do not write me here as there are no regulations in regard to the mail and I should not get your letter…Geo. S. Youngs."
