A good war-date printed Northern penny song sheet with a multi-color lithograph of an "Advance Guard Cavalry-near Alexandria, Va.", ca. 1863, 1p. 8vo., entitled: "The Drummer of Antietam", published by Charles Magnus, NYC and printed in multi-colors, reading, in small part: "The drummer of Antietam lays dead and alone. Upon the cold battle field…no friends mourn around him. No comrades are near…the moon faintly beams making his features more ghastly…thus are the bravest. Cut off in their bloom…but they shall be cherished in the hearts of the free…". Many more sadly pathetic verses. Near Fine.
